The Minutes That Matter
An immersive knife-crime awareness and emergency response experience for young people — combining cinematic storytelling, live interaction, real-world experience and practical emergency skills.

See the experience come to life.
A short preview of the cinematic, immersive approach behind The Minutes That Matter.
Students don’t just watch.
They become part of it.
The Minutes That Matter places young people inside a fictional but true-to-life emergency. Through film, live audience participation, an immersive 999 call and practical emergency first-aid education, students explore how quickly an ordinary day can change — and what an ordinary person can do in the crucial minutes before professional help arrives.
Cinematic storytelling
Students follow Sam, a fictional 17-year-old, through an ordinary day before everything changes.
Live decision-making
Anonymous interactive polling puts key decisions into the hands of the audience as the story unfolds.
The 999 experience
A realistic emergency-call scenario explores what to say, what happens next and how to respond under pressure.
Practical emergency skills
Young people learn practical actions that can help during the minutes before professional emergency care arrives.
Every minute changes what happens next.
Built from frontline experience.
The production was created by Lee Carr, a Paramedic with more than 15 years’ frontline NHS experience. Lee was one of the first Paramedics on scene to the fatal stabbing of Charlie Cosser in 2023 and has since shared his experience in an ITVX documentary following Charlie’s story and the wider impact of knife crime on families, friends and communities.
Designed for young people.
A modern, relevant and emotive educational experience that builds awareness, develops confidence and gives students practical knowledge they may one day need.
Bookings are available all year round. Schools and colleges provide a suitable room or stage, large screen and speakers for the presentation.
